The MyGreenCity 2026 Campaign builds on previous environmental programmes by scaling water stewardship, food security, and ecosystem restoration initiatives across the Western Cape. The campaign focuses on practical learning, community participation, and long-term sustainability outcomes.

Key focus areas for 2026 include:

• Water purification and watershed education visits for learners, exposing young people to critical water infrastructure and green career pathways.
• River health monitoring, clean-ups, and ecological restoration along priority rivers to reduce pollution and restore natural ecosystems.
• Expansion of school food security gardens to supplement feeding schemes with fresh, nutritious produce.
• Food and nutrition programmes linked to World Health Day and World Environmental Day.
• Learner engagement through holiday programmes, job shadowing, and environmental awareness campaigns.
• Corporate and volunteer partnerships supporting environmental action and community resilience.
